The WiMAX Forum Congress Asia 2008 in Singapore 9-10 April 2008: ATDI, Stand No:64

ATDI develops and markets tools for new generation wireless network design.

Its flagship planning tool ICS telecom is both OFDM-256 and OFDMA enabled, and analyses the network availability in outdoor / indoor, los / nlos situations, in order to quantify the quality of service for advanced IP data applications. It is nomadic and mobile reception oriented (3G, DVB-H, mesh networks, satellite, 802.16d/e/j 2004/2005 WiMax...), and focuses on the convergence and complementarities of these technologies in the same planning and regulatory environment.

ATDI is an active WiMax Forum(c) member since 2004, and is recognized as a world leading partner to WiMax equipment manufacturers and Greenfield/Incumbent operators for technical validation of their wireless business plan according to the service to accommodate (IPTV, VoIP, broadband internet..).

ATDI South Pacific is pleased to announce the availability of the Australia nationwide dataset in ICS telecom.

The files are already projected using a cartesian projection, avoiding therefore all radio-planning issues when geographic projections (arc sec for instance) are used. It not only contains terrain data, but also all relevant layers for radio-planning anywhere is Australia:
• Nationwide DTM at 100 resolution
• Nationwide clutter file at 100m resolution
• Nationwide Image dataset based upon the 1:250.000 scale topographic maps (Geoscience Australia (c) ) Click the link to read more

ATDI South Pacific is pleased to announce the availability of the Australia nationwide dataset in ICS telecom.

Converting ICS Telecom Results to Popular Formats
All calculations in ICS telecom are performed over three dimensional, metrically projected, raster workspaces. The visual output of ICS telecom’s calculations displayed over the map interface is also a metrically projected raster grid of values. These raster result grids can be output to a variety formats compatible with popular GIS tools such as MapInfo, ESRI products and Google Earth. This document will review how this is possible either directly through ICS telecom’s vectorization features, or through ICS map server’s dedicated features for projecting the grids so they can be loaded directly onto the exact geographic location in Google Earth. White Papers

Mesh Networks
This white paper addresses the problem of efficiently planning mesh networks with ICS telecom. This document is intended to help a radio-planner, technical director, project manager, or consultant to be more aware of the important goals to pursue when planning large scale mesh networks in urban environments. It proposes innovative ways to accurately manage large areas of interest, using cartographic data with mixed high and medium resolutions. more...

DVB-H Networks
Planning DVB-H networks with ICS telecom:
Macro-cell, Micro-cell and convergence with 2G/3G...!

ICS telecom can address the problem of efficient planning of DVB-H networks. It can not only be used on macro-scale DVB-H planning and its analysis on the geo-marketing point of view, but also integrates methodologies for deep-indoor network densification, at the address level! All aspects can be covered :
  • Defining the coverage model.
  • Enhancing the business model according to technical inputs.
  • Analyzing the impact of the integration of a DVB-H service in the existing spectrum, as well as checking the COFDM interference areas for SFN networks. Read the white paper
New Book: Mobile Radio Network Design in the VHF and UHF bands: A practical approach

Mobile Radio Network Design in the VHF and UHF bands: A practical approach
An essential element of radio technology and propagation is how to use radio technology and knowledge of radio propagation to design a network that meets the needs of customers. Mobile Radio Network Design in the VHF and UHF Bands provides the technical and fundamental knowledge required for advanced mobile radio network design to achieve this in terms that the engineer will understand, and augments this with essential information gleaned from the authors' extensive experience in mobile radio network design.

Mobile Radio Network Design in the VHF and UHF Bands: A Practical Approach is written by Adrian Graham, Nick Kirkman and Peter Paul costs $179 via the Wiley website www.johnwiley.com.au and Amazon www.amazon.com or all of your common bookstores.
